Recovery is possible. And you deserve it.

Why Authenticity Recovery?

At Authenticity Recovery, we believe healing begins when you feel truly seen, supported, and safe to be yourself. We are an outpatient group practice in Grand Rapids, MI specializing in the treatment of behavioral health, eating disorders, and related concerns. Whether you’re taking your first step toward recovery or looking for continued support, our team is here to walk alongside you.

"Let’s embark on this transformative journey together."

Our Approach

Recovery is not one-size-fits-all. We combine evidence-based treatment with compassionate, individualized care to help you build a sustainable, meaningful relationship with food, body, and self.

  • Clinical Expertise: Licensed, trained, and qualified providers specializing in eating disorder treatment and co-occurring concerns such as anxiety, depression, and trauma.

  • Addressing Root Causes: We go beyond surface symptoms and band-aid solutions. We seek to explore and heal the underlying emotional, psychological, and biological factors that drive the challenges you are facing.

  • Collaborative Care: A multidisciplinary team approach that integrates clinical therapy, nutrition support, medical coordination, and family involvement.

  • Safe Community: A treatment environment that lives the values of inclusion, understanding, empathy, and accountability. Where you are seen and supported. Where authenticity is valued and encouraged. Where you are safe and accepted, just as you are.

Recovery Community Group

Recovery can feel isolating at times and you don’t have to do it alone. The Recovery Community Group is a free, monthly gathering created to foster connection, support, and community among individuals who are in recovery from an eating disorder.

Facilitated by Dr. Flores and Justyne Ortquist, LPC, this group offers a safe, welcoming space to share openly about your recovery experience, celebrate progress, navigate challenges, and connect with others who understand. Whether you are newly in recovery or further along in your journey, you are welcome here.

This is an open, supportive space grounded in compassion, respect, and shared understanding. There is no pressure to share, come as you are. Our intention is to strengthen connection, reduce isolation, and remind one another that healing happens in community.

Recovery is not meant to be done alone. We hope you’ll join us. Virtual and in person participants welcome!

Eating Disorder Support Group for Friends and Family

Supporting someone with an eating disorder can feel confusing, heavy, and isolating. You don’t have to navigate it alone.

This support and education group is designed for friends, family members, and loved ones of individuals struggling with eating disorders. The group offers a safe, compassionate space to learn more about eating disorders, understand the recovery process, and explore how to offer support in ways that are both helpful and sustainable.

Together, we’ll cover topics such as:

• Understanding eating disorders and common myths

• How to communicate with care and reduce conflict

• Setting boundaries while staying connected

• Supporting recovery without taking on the role of “fixer”

• Caring for yourself while caring for someone else

This group is educational, supportive, and nonjudgmental. You are not expected to have all the answers or to share more than you’re comfortable with. Whether you’re a parent, partner, sibling, or friend, you are welcome here.

You don’t have to do this alone. Support for caregivers matters, too.

Compassionate & Professional

We care about you, your family, and your story. You can trust that we will treat you with respect, dignity and compassion in every interaction, while maintaining the highest standards for integrity and ethics.
