Dr. Anna Flores
Hi there!
I’m Dr. Anna Flores, DCN, MSN, CNSc—Doctor of Clinical Nutrition and Co-founder of Authenticity Recovery. I’m an integrative and functionally informed practitioner, and a subject matter expert in eating disorder treatment. I bring over a decade of experience in behavioral health and transformational healing, including private practice, research, integrative and functional medicine, home-based care, and eating disorder treatment centers.
My practice blends traditional wisdom with evidence-based modalities to help identify and address root causes. I offer individualized, compassionate, recovery-focused care grounded in the belief that food is foundational to healing—and that recovery is possible (and you deserve it).
Working with Me
When you enter a healing partnership with me, my priority is that you feel seen, heard, and met exactly as you are. Together, we’ll work to nourish a positive, sustainable relationship with food and your body on the path toward genuine, lasting health and recovery.
When you work with me, my goal is for you to feel safe, respected, and empowered—to rebuild trust with your body and your intuition.
Your treatment plan will be as unique as you are. Depending on your needs and goals, we might include nutritional therapy, personalized meal plans, nutritional and/or herbal supplement recommendations, genetic testing and other functional labs, integrative and functional medicine approaches, systems biology, recovery coaching, meal support, cooking with confidence skills, complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) therapies, and lifestyle medicine.
No two people are the same, so no two plans should be either. I love crafting truly individualized care that meets each person exactly where they are.
I have extensive experience treating child, adolescent, and adult eating disorders (including ARFID), substance use disorders, mental health concerns, neurotransmitter imbalances, gastrointestinal dysfunction, hormonal imbalances, autoimmunity, and acute nutritional needs such as pre- and post-operative nutrition.
I’m especially passionate about helping individuals who feel like they’ve ‘tried everything’—because there’s always another path to explore.
More about Me
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Sustainability Studies from Stony Brook University in 2013, focusing on environmental studies, economics, and biology. I went on to complete my Master of Science in Nutrition at the National University of Natural Medicine, where I also worked with the Food as Medicine Institute. Later, I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Nutrition from the Maryland University of Integrative Health, completing my clinical residency through Holistic Performance Method in London in 2021. My education has been a journey through both science and soul—learning how systems connect, not just within the body, but within the person.
Beyond clinical work, I’m a keynote speaker and guest lecturer throughout Michigan and beyond. I love sharing knowledge and collaborating with others to strengthen the field of recovery and integrative care. I believe that when we educate and collaborate, we expand what’s possible—for our clients, our communities, and the future of care.
TL;DR
A doctor of clinical nutrition with a lot of education and over a decade of experience who supports her clients in healing their physical body as well as their relationship with food through nutrition therapy and other associated modalities.
