Justyne Ortquist, LPC
Justyne Ortquist, MS, MEd, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor, couples and family therapist, and an Eating Disorder Specialist. She has a Master of Science in Couple and Family Therapy and a Master of Education in Prevention Science from the University of Oregon. She has a wide range of experience in her academic and professional career, including private practice integrative medicine, grief support, play and movement therapy, home services for families and young children, along with years of experience in eating disorder treatment centers.
Justyne is a compassionate and dedicated therapist specializing in relational therapy and the treatment of eating disorders. She has a deep understanding of the relationship between body and mind and a wealth of experience and expertise. Justyne employs an integrative approach to somatic-based healing which combines somatic therapy, trauma-informed yoga, and emotion-focused therapy to facilitate healing on multiple levels.
"I’m deeply passionate about helping people reconnect with their bodies and their inner wisdom. Healing, to me, isn’t about fixing what’s broken—it’s about remembering who we truly are beneath the layers of pain and protection."
Justyne goes beyond traditional talk therapy encouraging clients to explore their experience in a different way. One that is vulnerable, meaningful, and immensely healing. This is the foundation of her work with clients to support them in healing trauma in the body, building body awareness, and addressing maladaptive coping mechanisms. Through techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Non-Violent Communication, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Narrative Therapy, and trauma-informed counseling, Justyne helps individuals, couples, and families cultivate self-compassion, resilience, and healthier relationships with themselves and others.
"I see therapy as a living, breathing process—one that honors both science and heart. My goal is to create a space where people feel deeply seen, safe enough to explore, and empowered to transform."
Justyne utilizes a holistic framework that encompasses a systems thinking perspective, which acknowledges the interconnectedness of individual experiences within broader social and environmental contexts.
"Healing doesn’t happen in isolation. We are shaped by our relationships, our communities, and the systems we live within. My work always considers the whole picture—mind, body, and environment."
At the heart of Justyne’s practice is a belief in the power of holistic healing and the inherent wisdom of each individual's body and mind. By guiding clients on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment, Justyne fosters lasting transformation and growth.
"What inspires me most is witnessing someone reclaim their voice, their joy, and their connection to themselves. That moment when a client begins to trust their own body again—it’s sacred."
